Available services in United States

Uber and Lyft, the major ride-hail and ride-share giants, both operate in every state, metropolitan area, and airport in the country. Nearly every location in the US has at least one of them available, with Lyft operating in 97% and Uber in 93% of them, and only 295 out of the 37,890+ cities and towns in the US having neither. 7% of areas have Lyft but not Uber, and 2% vice versa. The services and their vehicles are typically very similar to each other, both offering XL vehicles with more seats for larger groups, premium vehicles (Uber Premier & Lyft Lux), wheelchair accessible vehicles with disability assistance, and more. Both also have options to get discounts for longer wait times (UberX Saver & Lyft Wait & Save), as well as scheduled trips for up to 30 or 7 days in advance, for Uber and Lyft respectively. Uber additionally offers food and package delivery services, while Lyft does not. Both providers have shared/pooled ride options in a handful of cities. Availability for all listed features may depend on location and time of day.
